What does the prototyping service include?

The goal is a working physical prototype that demonstrates the hardware functions agreed in your project scope. Mechanical design and electronics are developed together, so the enclosure, internal layout, components, power and assembly work as one system.

These are starting prices for Vibay’s service packages, not a fixed price for every hardware idea. Product complexity, features, materials, finishes, component selection and prototype quantities affect the quote. We confirm the deliverables, included design revisions and final price before work begins.

Founder manufacturing support includes introductions to selected partners, production and tooling quotes, and handoff coordination. Tooling, production and third-party manufacturing services are scoped and quoted separately.

How long does prototype development take?

Vibay hardware prototype builds typically take 45–60 days after design approval. Requirements definition and design approval come before that build period. Component availability, fabrication, finishing, testing, revisions and approval delays can change the project schedule.

The sequence is product definition and design approval, mechanical and hardware development, component sourcing, prototyping and refinement, then assembly and testing. We demonstrate the agreed hardware functions before shipping the prototype.

These are selected higher-budget references, not an industry average. Scope and time milestones differ: Vibay’s 45–60 days begins after design approval; TriMech’s six-month-plus figure describes prototyping generally; Design 1st describes broader development programs. They do not establish a like-for-like savings percentage or speed multiplier.

What does full project IP include?

Vibay includes ownership of your project-specific design IP, agreed editable design files and module test source code in its build packages. This combines a low starting price, focused hardware delivery and freedom to choose how development continues.

Kickr also states that clients retain their IP. Compare the actual files and reuse rights in each handoff. Third-party components, software libraries and AI services remain subject to their own terms.

What should I prepare before contacting Vibay?

A concept image and a short description of the intended behavior are enough to start a discussion. A complete engineering specification is not required. The following details help us assess feasibility and give you a useful scope:

  • Who will use the product, where they will use it, and the problem it should solve.

  • The core actions it must demonstrate: what it senses, displays, moves or controls.

  • Approximate dimensions, appearance, materials and finish preferences.

  • Any power, charging, connectivity or component requirements you already know.

  • How many prototypes you need, your budget range and any target date.

  • Whether you expect finished firmware, a mobile app or cloud features in addition to the hardware.

Can I continue developing the software?

Yes. Vibay delivers programmable hardware, module test source code, design files and VibeKit. Use these with your preferred AI coding tools to develop, review and test further product behavior. The handoff gives you control over who develops the next software iteration.

Hardware module tests and a finished application are different deliverables. Identify any production firmware, mobile app, cloud service or AI integration you need during scoping so the responsibilities and acceptance criteria are clear.

Is a working prototype ready for mass production?

A working Vibay prototype demonstrates the agreed functions; it is not automatically ready for mass production. Production may require further engineering, tooling, manufacturing tests, certification and supplier decisions. Founder Build includes manufacturing handoff support; production and third-party services have separate scopes and quotes.
