Build with Vibay

Electronics and PCB development for hardware prototypes.

Vibay develops and integrates electronics as part of a complete hardware prototype, coordinating the enclosure, power, charging, assembly and testing. Creator Build starts at US$4,699; Founder Build adds custom PCB work from US$7,699. Both include design files, module test source code and full project IP for continued development with your team and AI coding tools.

At a glance

Electronics integration: included in Creator Build from US$4,699 for one prototype. Custom PCB design, optimization and testing: included in Founder Build from US$7,699 for four prototypes of one product. These are complete hardware build prices. Typical builds take 45–60 days after design approval, with the final scope and schedule agreed per project.

How does Vibay keep the first electronics build affordable?

Vibay combines electronics with enclosure design, fabrication and assembly in one hardware build. Start with the functions your prototype needs to demonstrate; add custom PCB work through Founder Build when the product requires it. The published prices cover complete prototype packages, not a standalone PCB design fee.

Fast, coordinated development: mechanical fit, electronics, sourcing and testing are handled around the same prototype scope. Typical Vibay builds take 45–60 days after design approval, subject to the project’s complexity and component availability.

Full project IP keeps the next stage under your control. Vibay’s design files and module test source code support further development with AI coding tools or your chosen engineering partner. Confirm the exact file formats and third-party dependencies in the handoff scope.

What electronics work is included?

Both build packages include electronics integrated into an assembled, programmable prototype, with power, charging and hardware testing. The electronics must fit the enclosure and support the agreed product functions; the physical and electrical requirements are considered together.

Founder Build explicitly includes custom PCB design, optimization and testing for cost-efficient production. Discuss any custom PCB requirement when requesting a Creator Build quote so the agreed scope covers it.

Should the prototype use modules or a custom PCB?

Standard modules can suit a first prototype when they demonstrate the required function and fit the enclosure. A custom PCB becomes relevant when size, connector placement, power, assembly or production requirements need an integrated board. Vibay reviews those constraints before agreeing the electronics approach.

We review the requirements before choosing an approach. A custom PCB does not by itself make a complete product ready for production; enclosure fit, component supply, assembly and testing still need to be addressed.

  • Define the required inputs and outputs: sensors, buttons, displays, motors or other interfaces.

  • Describe the available space, mounting points and connector access.

  • State power and charging needs, expected usage and any constraints.

  • Separate the functions needed for this prototype from features planned for later versions.

How do electronics and mechanical design fit together?

The board or module layout affects enclosure dimensions, mounting, cable paths, charging access and the placement of controls. Considering these together helps turn a collection of components into a usable prototype.

Vibay’s build service includes custom enclosure design and fabrication alongside electronics integration. Materials, colors, finishes and hardware features are agreed for the project, then the complete prototype is assembled and tested.

Does electronics development include finished software?

Vibay’s standard hardware builds include module test source code and VibeKit. Finished product firmware, mobile apps, cloud services and AI integrations require an explicit scope. Module tests establish hardware behavior; a finished application may need additional logic, interfaces and testing.

Include finished firmware, mobile apps, cloud services and AI features explicitly in your brief when you need them delivered. The quote should define which functions Vibay will implement and demonstrate, and which functions you or another software team will continue building.

What files and manufacturing support do I receive?

The handoff includes the agreed design files, module test source code and ownership of your project IP. Confirm the exact electronic design files, source formats and any third-party dependencies with the project scope, especially if another engineering team will continue the work.

Founder Build includes introductions to selected manufacturing partners in China, support with production and tooling quotes, and coordination of the production handoff. Tooling, production and third-party manufacturing services are quoted separately.

How are budget and schedule agreed?

Vibay’s published prices cover complete prototype build packages rather than a fixed standalone PCB-design fee. Creator Build starts at US$4,699; Founder Build starts at US$7,699. Product complexity, functions, component selection, materials and quantities affect the final price.

Typical complete builds take 45–60 days after design approval. PCB work, component availability, fabrication, testing and revisions can affect the estimate. We confirm a project-specific scope and schedule before work starts.
